{"id":611,"date":"2025-05-18T15:19:37","date_gmt":"2025-05-18T05:19:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/electricadventures.net\/?p=611"},"modified":"2025-05-18T15:19:37","modified_gmt":"2025-05-18T05:19:37","slug":"new-game-announcement-seaquest-99","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/electricadventures.net\/?p=611","title":{"rendered":"New Game Announcement: Seaquest 99"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I had an afternoon this weekend where I was left alone and have been playing Seaquest for the Atari 2600 a bit lately, trying to set a high score, and I couldn&#8217;t stop thinking about the game and how it could be done on the TI-99xx chipset, i.e. Colecovision, MSX and original Spectravideo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I sat down and started putting together some of the graphics, and then started putting the framework of the game together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/electricadventures.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-71.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-612\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>So far, I have completed the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>EA Splash Screen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Title Screen (although it needs some more pixel-level editing)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Main play screen tile layout<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oxygen Meter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lives remaining display<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Main Sub movement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enemy Sub spawning and movement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I was quite surprised I got so much done in such a short period of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are obviously quite a few things still to do, i.e. sharks, divers, collision detection, sound effects and music, but I am confident enough that I will be able to make quite a decent port.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I posted a short video of the game before I did the title screen and enemy movement to my Facebook page&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?v=441130439358350&amp;set=vb.166010800203650&amp;type=2&amp;theater\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More updates soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had an afternoon this weekend where I was left alone and have been playing Seaquest for the Atari 2600 a bit lately, trying to set a high score, and I couldn&#8217;t stop thinking about the game and how it could be done on the TI-99xx chipset, i.e. Colecovision, MSX and original Spectravideo.
