Original Battlezone

This is a project arcade cabinet worth doing, covering off an absolute classic and distinctive arcade with an original full-size upright Battlezone. More than likely, this was the very unit I played as a kid in the very first proper arcade here in Hobart, Tasmania.

It is complete, bar the backdoor, and comes with:

  • Two vector boards
  • Three game boards
  • Replacement control panel (original is in parts box)
  • Controls have been refurbished
  • The vector CRT chassis has been recapped (common parts only)
  • High score save kit

The last time I saw this unit working, it had the Battlezone II kit installed, which would be great if that is still there (but otherwise I will definitely look into getting that).

Have to get it working first, of course, it was working, but after being accidentally left on for 24 hours straight, it now plays blind. The vector chassis has had the common caps replaced, but not some of the common failure point components on the vector monitor boards. I will do some research and see what parts I need before proceeding with the repair.
